FAQs

I HAVE SIGNED UP ONLINE. HOW DO I KNOW THAT MY REGISTRATION WAS SUCCESSFUL?
All registered members are listed within 24h in the list, category competition / participant. Once you transferred your registration fee, within the coming weeks your name will be listed on the starter list including a starting number.


DURING ONLINE REGISTRATION THERE IS A DATA ARRAY “DAILLY LICENSE”. WHAT DOES IT MEAN?
DTU (German Triathlon Union, German national triathlon federation) requires a start license for middle distance participants, mehr. Participants without such a license need to buy a daily pass at the time of the registration or when picking up the race packets. For further information please read the DTU’s explanation with respect to start license or daily pass. The other competitions do not require a start license or a daily pass.


MAY I START WITH MY AERO WHEEL EQUIPPED TRIATHLON BIKE?
Yes, so you may start with your best material. For all BERLIN TRIATHLON XL races DTU regulations on slipstreaming are not applicable.

MAY I PARTICIPATE WITH A NORMAL BICYCLE?
Classic ladies and gentlemen’s bicycles are allowed. Do not forget to inflate your tires before starting!

WHAT NEEDS TO BE SAID WITH RESPECT TO THE WATER QUALITY OR THE WATER TEMPERATURE?
At a significant time interval before the start, a water sample is taken in order to exclude healthy risks stemming from the water quality. Likewise, we will regularly inform you about the temperature of the water. You will be informed on the spot at due time whether neoprene suits are allowed or prohibited.
ARE THERE ANY REGULATIONS REGARDING CLOTHING?
It is necessary to wear shoes, while cycling an approved helmet and upper body clothing while cycling and running. Swimsuits are sufficient for ladies.

WHERE DO I LEAVE MY VALUEABLES DURING THE RACE?
Only race starter may access the transition zone. Checkout of the bicycle without showing the starting number corresponding to the bike is impossible. Caution: valuables cannot be kept safe, so better leave them at home!

HOW DOES THE BIKE LAP COUNT WORK?
The number of your laps will not be displayed. Set your own bike speedometer to zero! Video monitoring is being used, which enables to make a lap count later in suspicious cases.

HOW IS THE ROAD CLOSURE ON THE BIKE COURSE ORGANIZED?
To race competitors, unrestricted access is granted to the bike course. Partly the bike course route is blocked for cars, only cars of residents must be granted access. Police grants access at designated spots and at appropriate times. Cars have an overtaking ban. Spectators reach the route by car as well as the participants by bike (via Mueggelheim / Gosen).
